So George Lucas Said Some Bullshit

Bonus Post!  I thought I was clever, getting all my posts done early, so I could play Kingdom of Amalur and watch Archer in peace.  But, of course, I stopped paying attention to the internet for two seconds, and George Lucas says this bullshit:

“The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo (who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original) to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn’t. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down”

Okay.  That’s some bullshit.  And, no, not, like, “Oh, man, the Giants won? Bullshit!” Not “I don’t agree with it, so I’m going to yell about it loudly on the internet”.  No this is Karl Pilkington level bullshit.  This is Lucas saying things that we all know aren’t true.

You know how we know it’s not true?  Cause we’ve been complaining about this for fifteen years, and this is the first we’re hearing about it. The Special Editions were released in 1997.  Why didn’t Lucas explain this then?  Why is he only explaining today, the day he’s re-releasing one of his movies in 3D, and needs some free publicity?  No, this is fake. He’s saying some shit he knows will piss off his audience to get his name in the news.  Don’t fall for it. Don’t see this shitty 3D release of this shitty movie. Don’t do it.
