I guess this is a good thing. She sings well at least. I don’t see need to parody a song in a single close-up, but there’s some nice one-liners about her haircut. She looks like Anne Hathaway, so she’s got that going for her.

Golden Globes Really Like Ben Affleck
Well, not enough to even nominate him for Best Actor, but that’s hard when you are also directing the movie. So the Golden Globes, an awards panel consisting of about 13 people, chose Argo for Best Picture and Ben Affleck for Best Director. In a another set of themes, they gave two awards to Les Miserables, two to Homeland, two to Girls, and two to Django Unchained. Seems like the committee had a lot in common. Typically, this doesn’t guarantee anything about Oscar results, but nice to see a few snubs win the consolation prizes.
2013 Oscar Nominations List is A Little Expected
Hey, everyone! Here’s your 10 nominees for Best Picture this year at the Oscars:
Amour
Argo
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Django Unchained
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Lincoln
Silver Linings Playbook
Zero Dark Thirty
All of them are pretty expected except Amour. Haven’t heard of it. And it’s Austrian, so there’s that. For the rest of the categories, it’s pretty much everyone you expected. That is, unless you expected more non-technical awards for Skyfall, more than just Best Picture for Django Unchained, and absolutely anything for Moonrise Kingdom. Oscar noms are pretty much a popularity contest, the most consensus movies and individuals will get the nods. That’s probably why Amour is there. Everyone kind of liked it enough to land in the top 10. Skyfall probably had some derision. And if you are one of those people that thought The Hobbit should be here, go take 1/3 of a screenwriting course and film it. Your final product will also be weird and feel unfinished.
